Bruce Wyman

Mr. Wyman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a second concentration in Guidance Counseling from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. He was licensed as a Guidance Counselor in Virginia in 2002 and in New York State, and he is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. Recently, he completed his certification as an Emergency Access Clinician in Virginia and is a Certified Clinical Supervisor for individuals seeking supervision hours for licensure.

Mr. Wyman has worked in the fields of mental health and substance abuse treatment since 1972, serving a broad spectrum of clients. He specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. He has held five administrative positions within agencies, two of which were at the executive level. Mr. Wyman is a seasoned therapist who has been providing clinical assessments and services in the Washington, DC, and upstate New York regions since 1974.

As an Adjunct Professor at Germanna Community College and an experienced trainer and consultant, Mr. Wyman brings extensive expertise to his field. In his role as Director of Consultation and Education at the Niagara Falls Community Mental Health Center, he coordinated grief counseling services for medical patients and families, crisis debriefing, and stress management for acute care hospital personnel, as well as all in-service training and professional development for a 90-bed inpatient community mental health center. He co-authored the Adolescent Suicide Prevention Manual for the New York State Office of Mental Health in Albany in 1988.

Mr. Wyman is frequently called as an expert witness in Prince William, Fairfax, and Culpeper Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts regarding custody disputes and is often engaged as a Reunification Counselor.

He is also commissioned by immigration attorneys to provide psychological evaluations in support of “extreme hardship” and “political asylum” waiver applications submitted to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Evergreen Behavioral Health Services contracts with Counselors in Residence and Interns who are working toward licensure. Although they are independent contractors, these professionals receive supervision from experienced, licensed professionals certified by the state to provide clinical supervision.
