Most new clients are scheduled within 1–7 days, depending on clinician availability and insurance verification timing.
14. Do you provide therapy for children and teenagers?
Yes — several therapists specialize in child and adolescent therapy, working with kids as young as 5 and teens on issues like anxiety, school stress, behavioral challenges, and family dynamics.
15. Is telehealth therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes — research shows telehealth is equally effective for most mental health concerns. All Evergreen therapists are specifically trained in best-practice virtual delivery.
16. What platform do you use for telehealth sessions?
Sessions are conducted in Therapy Portal: a HIPAA-compliant video platform (simple link sent by your therapist — no special software download required).
17. Can couples do therapy together if we live in different locations in Virginia?

Yes — as long as both partners are physically located in Virginia during sessions, joint virtual couples counseling is available.
18. Do you offer Christian counseling or faith-based therapy?
​
Some clinicians integrate Christian or faith-based perspectives when requested by the client and when it aligns with the client’s goals.
19. Do you treat ADHD?
​
Yes — therapists commonly work with ADHD-related challenges in children, teens, and adults (organization, focus, impulsivity, emotional regulation, etc.).
20. Can I switch therapists if the first match isn’t quite right?

Absolutely — the practice will happily help you find a better-fitting clinician at no extra charge.

The initial session is typically an intake/assessment where your therapist gets to know you, discusses your goals, and begins building a treatment plan together.

24. Do parents need to be involved in a child’s or teen’s therapy?
Parental involvement level is customized based on age and needs — some sessions include parents, others are one-on-one with the child/teen, and many use a combination.

25. How long are therapy sessions and how often do people attend?
Standard sessions are 45–60 minutes. Frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.) is determined collaboratively based on your needs and goals.
